Dear all,
You are invited to the next meeting of the Biological Interest Group (BIG). It will take place this coming Wednesday 4th March. It will be held in the seminar room at Byrne House, from 1-2pm. Participants can bring lunch and drinks if they wish.
This week we are very pleased to receive the visit of Thibault Racovski, from EGENIS. We will be discussing the attached paper ‘On ambiguities in the definition of evolutionary novelties and their consequences for the debate on the Extended Evolutionary Synthesis’. This is an article intended for publication in a special issue of the journal History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences. Comments on the clarity of the argument, on the background knowledge required to understand the paper (and if there is enough, e.g. on the modern synthesis), on how to improve transitions and to develop the conclusion are warmly welcomed.
