Monday 1st December – 1-2pm – Seminar Room, Byrne House

You are invited to the next meeting of the Biological Interest Group (BIG), which will take place this coming Monday, 1st December. As usual, it will be held in the seminar room at Byrne House, from 1-2pm. Participants can bring lunch and drinks if they wish. This will be the last BIG meeting this term.

We will be discussing work by Jim Lowe, entitled ‘Ontology and Practice – Taking Variation Seriously’. This is a draft which is a re-worked and expanded version of a paper he gave at a conference several weeks ago, and he intends to submit it to form part of the special issue on the conference which will be published in History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences.  Jim would welcome any suggestions concerning the structure of this paper, whether it lives up to its billing, and any other comments participants might have.

Please contact Jim Lowe at jwel201 [at] for a copy of the paper or for any other information.

As always, please do not disseminate this work in progress any further.
