Monday 12th May – 1-2pm – Seminar Room, Byrne House

You are invited to the next session of the Biological Interest Group on Monday 12th May. As usual, it will be held in the seminar room at Byrne House, from 1-2pm. Participants can bring lunch and drinks if they wish.

We will be discussing work by Sabina Leonelli, who writes by way of introduction to her work: “I am circulating the conclusion of the monograph I wrote while in Berlin, which is due for submission to Chicago UP in June. I hope that it will give you a sense of what the book preceding it is like – it is a rather speculative piece, but building on six chapters of grounded analysis, so this is where I am letting my ‘philosophical hair’ down (if one can say such a thing in English..). Concrete suggestions on how to improve the writing and clarity of the message would be most appreciated. As you will see, the last part of the text is still underdeveloped — after the marathon of writing I ran out of steam, so I very much look forward to discussing this with you! In case you are curious and can spare a little bit more reading time, I am also attaching the table of content (to give you a quick sense of what precedes this chapter) and the introduction of the book, which gives you a sense of how to contextualize this piece (!).”

Please contact Jim Lowe at jwel201 [at] exeter.ac.uk for a copy of the paper or for any other information.

As always, please do not disseminate this work in progress without the author’s express permission.
