Monday 2nd December – 1-2pm – Seminar Room, Byrne House

You are invited to the next session of the Biological Interest Group on Monday 2nd December. As usual it will be held in the seminar room at Byrne House, from 1-2pm. Participants can bring lunch and drinks if they wish.

Samantha Hurn will be leading the session, which will be based on work entitled ‘Land of Beasts and Dragons: Anthropological Myth-Making in Rural Wales’.

Sam stresses that this is a rough draft. She would like the group to offer comments including whether it makes sense, whether she is trying to cover too much and therefore not really addressing any aspect in enough detail and whether the ‘science versus performative knowledge’ argument is too simplistic, and how it might be developed/improved.

The article can be obtained by emailing Jim Lowe at jwel201 [at] – As this is a work in progress please do not disseminate further without Dr Hurn’s express permission.
