You are invited to this term’s first session of the Biological Interest Group on Monday 21st October. As usual it will be held in the seminar room at Byrne House, from 1-2pm. Participants can bring lunch and drinks if they wish.
Paul Griffiths will be leading the session, which will be based on a rough draft of a paper designed to explain the idea of Crick Information and its significance. Paul sees it as a sort of abstract of one of the main arguments that runs more diffusely through the recent book (Genetics and Philosophy: An Introduction, Cambridge University Press, 2013) he wrote with Karola Stotz. What he wants to get out of this session is to find how he can communicate this idea more succinctly and effectively.
The article can be obtained by emailing Jim Lowe at jwel201 [at] ex.ac.uk – As it is a work in preparation please do not disseminate further without Prof. Griffiths’ express permission.
