Prof. Dupre would like to talk about ontological pluralism in biology, with regard to genes, organisms and species – how different and similar are the grounds for pluralism in these cases? And to what extent might the inevitability of pluralism be explained by the need to abstract fixed individual things from constantly changing processes?
